    REVOLUTION RUCKUS TO ROCK BU

For those of you who are longing for the spring flings full of blaring bands, great food, and ears ringing--wait no longer.

WBUQ 91.1 FM has announced a Revolution Ruckus on Saturday, April 17 from 2 to 8 PM. The "Ruckus" will feature a full day of local bands, topped off by national recording artist "Paxton" as the headliner. This concert is free to the public, however the station will be accepting free will donations to benefit local charities.

This is the first concert of its kind for the station and the university.

"We are looking forward to getting WBUQ’s name out to the community through this event," said Chris Wagner, Revolution Ruckus committee chairperson.

In addition to local bands, there will be a raffle, games, and food stands from local businesses. Some fraternities and sororities are helping set up and tear down this six hour spectacular.

"As a campus and community oriented station, we are committed to providing quality entertainment to the campus while still making a valuable contribution to the community," said Greg Albert, General Manager for WBUQ.

Seven local bands including Gauge, Illusions of Grandeur, PDA, Velvet Green, Tempers, Heaven Forbid and the Overdrivers will be included in the festivities. National recording artist "Paxton" will headline on the main stage. There will be a side stage to play while the main stage is being set up.

A karaoke competition for students will be held during the Ruckus. Student groups of 3-6 people can sign up starting today for a fee of three dollars per person in Kehr Union. Prizes will be awarded to winners.

"This entire event was completely student planned and organized," Wagner said. "There are plenty of students that are dedicated to make the concert a success."

Paxton is currently promoting their self-titled release, and along with all the other bands at the Ruckus, will be playing free of charge as a service to the station and campus.
