MAYOR DISCUSSES TOWN ALCOHOL INITIATIVE ON WBUQ

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg Mayor Mary Lenzini-Howe appeared on WBUQ 91.1 FM on Monday, April 19 to discuss the current town alcohol initiative.

Lenzini-Howe detailed the work of the alcohol task force that has been established in Bloomsburg to control underage drinking and abuse of alcohol. She also discussed the relationship between the town and university.

She played her Island Essentials, her three favorite CDs, on the show. Her three favorite discs included the Eagles: Hell Freezes Over, Vivaldi: Four Seasons, and Gloria Estefan: Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me.

"As a campus and community oriented station, we are pleased to have served as a medium for discussion for this very important initiative," said Greg Albert, general manager for WBUQ and the DJ whose show the mayor appeared on.

Lenzini-Howe discussed the need for more activities as alternatives to alcohol consumption. She said that a subcommittee of the alcohol task force was set up to focus specifically on this need.

The mayor appeared on Albert’s weekly 8-10 PM show. Past guests on his show have included University President Dr. Jessica Kozloff and Chief of University Police Maggie Boykin.
