Boston

Bar Name
Hub Pub
Description
Billed as the "Friendliest Pub in the Hub," this nice-sized bar is located on the other side of Washington Street and close to Boston Common, City Hall, etc.

Definitely a nice inside with seating upstairs and TVs everywhere. They had the good standard beers and a very friendly bartender.

Brewery Name
Harpoon Brewery  (http://www.harpoonbrewery.com)
Description
They know how to do the brewery tour right--less tour, more drinking. They walk you through tasting of 6 beers and then mention that there's a brewery behind you to look at.

All the beers are excellent and well worth the free tasting. It's a bit of a trek to get down there, but well worth the cab/bus/walk.

Hotel Name
Hilton Boston Back Bay
Description
Right in the middle of the action and just a block off Boylston Street, this place is quite a nice hotel. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and it was fairly inexpensive ($130/night). The only hitch is parking, which is another $35/night self-park and $40 for valet.

I'd recommend this place if not simply for its location. You can walk from here to just about anywhere.

Restaurant Name
Joe V's
Description
At the corner of Shawmut and Union Park, this small bistro has some awesome pizzas, chicken parm and a very kind wait staff. It's in a trendier area, but the prices really don't reflect it.

It's a neighborhood place, so you have lots of people in jeans, hats, etc. on their way home from work or after they pick up their kids. It's definitely got a nice neighborhood restaurant feel to it.

Restaurant Name
Naked Fish
Description
Excellent seafood restaurant with a Cuban flair. Very good prices for the amount of food/quality we got.

Definitely get the Balsamic Glazed Scallops and the Calamari for appetizers.

For entrees, the Mahi-mahi was excellent.

Just down the street from the Harpoon Brewery, this place has been open since 1917 and is home to some of the freshest fish you can get. Definitely get the chowder, which is a mish-mosh of whatever they caught that day.

I've gotten the broiled fish or fried fish plate which are all good. It's inexpensive ($8-$12) and excellent food. It's not the nicest decor, but you can get over that.
