Pittsburgh

Attraction Name
Strip District  (http://www.neighborsinthestrip.com/thestrip/thestrip.html )
Description
It's an open-air market with a ton of quirky craft tables, strange T-shirts and lots of different kinds of food. It only opens on Saturdays and it gets packed.

The seafood market is unreal... fantastic fresh selection that you can take home and grill.

Bar Name
Elixir Ultra Lounge
Description
On a Friday/Saturday night, this is guy heaven. Now, I've been to NY, LA, Miami, etc., and I've never seen so many beautiful women in one place walking up and down the stairs (to the upstairs bar). The eye candy alone makes this place worth it.

Dress smart, and most people are smart casual on weekend nights. It can get busy, but I wasn't knocking into anyone else. A good number of beers on tap and the typical mixed drinks, all fairly reasonably priced. Get here between 10 and 1 and then finish out the night at another place.

Bar Name
Jack Rose Bar
Description
A dive bar to end all dive bars. Heavily blue collar with a lot of PBR served by the can. Expect it to get loud and cramped. Needless to say, not my type of bar.

Bar Name
Le Mardi Gras
Description
Home of the stiffest drinks in Pittsburgh. Be sure to order a mixed drink, as the bartender barely puts the non-alcoholic part in it. A rum and coke is rum with a dash of coke for color.

Bar Name
Smokin Joes Saloon
Description
With nearly 80 bottles beers and 15-20 draft beers, this is THE place to be on a Friday night. Their food is excellent as well. I had the Grilled Chicken Hoagie which was large and in charge.

And, this is the place for the best wings in Pittsburgh. Definitely make it a stop.

Bar Name
The Church Brew Works  (http://www.churchbrew.com)
Description
Is there any beer tasted than one in a former church? If so, I don't know of one. This old church was converted into a micro brewery, which gives it a certain tongue-in-cheek alure to it.

All the beers I had were good. Try the Pipe Organ Ale or one of their specials.

Cool pool hall with about 30-40 tables right on Carson St--right in the mix of things. Good beer specials, lots of TVs, definitely worth a run.

Dels Bar and Restorante Delpizzo
Description
Huge Sunday brunch buffett with a lot of pasta (mac & cheese, meatballs, rigatoni, etc.) for about $10. Totally worth the price of admission.

Restaurant Name
Fat Heads South Shore Saloon  (http://www.fatheads.com)
Description
Likely the best bar food that I've ever had. There was a 5-6 page menu and everything was great. Wings were excellent and the Jalapeno Cheese Steak was fantastic.

They have a huge draft list (30 or so on the list) and it's all hard to find micro and international brews. This place gets crazy at night, so get there early if you want a seat. Highly, highly recommended.

Restaurant Name
Fioris Pizzaria
Description
This is the famous pizza parlor that puts extra cold mozzarella cheese on a regular (cooked) slice of pizza. The pizza itself is fantastic but the added cold cheese makes it an awesome meal. If you want to be local, get the carton of iced tea.

You could very easily miss this place, as it's a hole in the wall, so be aware.

Restaurant Name
Spice Island Tea House
Description
Make sure you bring an appetite to this place because the portions are huge. Generally, Pad Thai can feed two people without a problem.

This small hole in the wall is located a few blocks from the Pittsburgh campus, so there are a lot of college students that frequent the place for its huge portions and reasonable prices.
