Seattle

Attraction Name
Green Lake Park-Northwest
Description
This is a beautiful park in a very crowded area a couple miles outside of downtown. It's a couple miles and it circles a beautiful lake.

Sitting at the lake, you can see mountains off in the distance. A must-do.

Attraction Name
Pike Place Fish Company
Description
While it's technically just a seafood counter, this place is that and much, much more. Right at the beginning of Pike Place Market, these guys are world famous--for throwing fish.

Their lively sales style is known around the world and has appeared in promotional videos.

It's a big crowd draw to see them throw fish across the counter to one another and yell back and forth the whole time.

Attraction Name
Pike Place Market
Description
The second most famous landmark next to the Space Needle, this a must see/do. It's a huge market close to the water in downtown Seattle.

There are lots of great restaurants and a lot of cool, quirky shops. This place has a ton of personality.

Bar Name

My absolute favorite place in the world. Sitting in the grass has an amazing view of the mountains, the marina and Seattle in the distance.

I'd highly recommend the Moose Drool beer, if they have it.

Bar Name
Greenlake Bar & Grill
Description
After a nice walk in the park, head to the bar for a great selection of beer. Moose Drool is my favorite here, but there are another 10, none of which is a Bud or Coors--yipee!

Try the Greek Feta wrap with chicken. If you're in the mood for a festive cocktail, try the Raspberry Lemonade--it's got a kick.

Quick tip for you non-Pacific Northwesterners: if you want seltzer water at the bar, it's called soda water here.

Right across from Safeco Field, this is a great bar/restaurant that features every kind of Pyramid brew you could imagine. Nice inside with friendly bartenders and good food.

For a great burger (one of the best I've had in a while), try the Pyramid burger.

Hotel Name
Eagle Harbor Inn  (http://www.theeagleharborinn.com)
Description
By far the best B&B that I've stayed at. It's really more of a hotel than a B&B, as they don't serve breakfast...

But the most important thing is that you have a view of the water and you're less than 50 feet from my favorite bar - Doc's Bar and Grill.

Hotel Name
Westin Seattle  (http://www.starwood.com)
Description
Nice, comfortable hotel within 5 minutes walking distance of the downtown area. The rooms are large, but they're comfortable, with a couch, chair and a heavenly bed.

Important: The Westin's parking rates are exorbinate ($26 for self park, and $29 for valet. Instead, park at the Westin office building (not affiliated with the hotel). They give a hotel nightly rate of $15/night. It's on 5th after making the left from Lenora.

Other Name
Greggs Greenlake Cycle
Description
In the Greenlake area just outside of downtown. They rent bicycles on the cheap ($5-10 bucks an hour) and are right next to the park for easy access.

FYI: Plan to spend some time looking for parking, as it's at a premium in this area.

Restaurant Name
Flying Fish  (http://www.flyingfishseattle.com)
Description
Fantastic fresh fish restaurant in downtown Seattle along restaurant row. They have new entrees everyday depending on what comes in. I got the clams appetizer and the Mahi Mahi entree which were unbelievable. I'd also recommend the desserts. I got the Semifreddo which was awesome.

Nice environment, cheerful staff and bartender. It gets quite busy so either plan or ordering at the bar or making a reservation.

Restaurant Name
Maximilien Restaurant  (http://www.maximilienrestaurant.com)
Description
Located in Pike Place Market (same floor as the guys who throw the fish), this place is known for its mussels and I understand why. It's a French restaurant and it's not very large so it fills quickly.

Definitley get the mussels. I got the mariniere, which was with garlic and tomatoes--excellent. It's a huge portion so be hungry, and you can probably do without the salad.

Cool, rather busy local coffee shop right on the marina in Bainbridge next to Docs.

For breakfast, they only have two things. I'd recommend the breakfast omellete.

All the coffee is good and I loved the chai tea.

Tasty Thai food in downtown Seattle, right in the heart of things. Think of it as a better PF Changs.

I recommend the short ribs and the mongolian noodles. Definitely grab a glass of riesling to cut the spiciness of the dishes.

Nordstroms Rack
Description
Discount Nordstroms shopping. Not quite my thing...

Tip #1: Go to the Olympic Diner for protein. Hydration is key so get the bottle of water.

Tip #2: Proceed to the shoe floor immediately. Grab your complimentary bag and get moving.

Tip #3: Go to your shoe size and the one size above it. Drop to the floor and start trying on shoes. If the fit, put them in your bag and keep going.

Tip #4: Follow associates with garbage cans on wheels. Follow the woman that's pushing a garbage can with your size on the can (they're all labeled).

Winery Name
Chateau Saint Michelle Winery
Description
Directly across from the Columbia Winery, this winery is also known for its inexpensive, but quality, wines. The back of the winery has $5 tastings, which are typically higher end wines.

It's a bit pretentious, but the wine is quite good and well worth the price. They also have a rather extensive wine shop.

Make this the last stop on your wine tour, as the winery closes after the others at 7pm.

Known for its moderately priced wines, they have a nice facility and 4-5 wines to taste for free, or a reserve tasting for $5. Also a very nice shop.
