I'm becoming a huge fan of Hampton Inns, and this one is no different. Decent sized rooms, very reasonable price (around 115/night on the weekend).
Free hot breakfast and free internet. Sits at the top of Route 14, which allows you to hit all of the wineries before the crowds, as the crowds normally start south and go north.
Nice tile floor in the bathrooms, nice amenities (fitness center, pool, hot tub). Good coffee.
Kudos to a man in wine country who owns a liquor store. After going there to purchase a corkscrew, he tried to upsell us to New York wine (after purchasing 50 bottles in the last two days).
Open late on Sundays (until 9am) and has a good hard liquor selection.
Inexpensive. Extremely consultative with the tasting. Asked what kinds of wines we liked before shoving wine on us. Very educational and knowledgable staff. Very fun, relaxed setting
Very personable staff, not pushy at all. Wine shop was good.
The Port was unbelievable.
Purchased: - Carpe Vinum - Long Stem Red - Vignoles - Pinot Noir - Port

The wine shop was sub-bar.
