    Bar Name
    Bethlehem Brew Works  (http://www.thebrewworks.com)
    Description
Brewpub in downtown Bethlehem. Always a good couple of beers on tap. For the old standby, try the Valley Golden Ale.

As food goes, I'd say it's better than average. They have good burgers and gigantic nachos (though expensive). I always look and have been very happy with their daily specials.

    Bar Name
    South Side Steel
    Description
Nice new bar in South Bethlehem. They always have 5 or so excellent beers on tap (no Coors, Miller, etc.) and about 20 premium beers in the bottles.

Now, on to the food. For appetizers, try the Clam Goo and the Brushchetta.

For entrees... if you want a full dinner, definitely get the chilean sea bass. It's on top of a pesto rissotto.

Or, for pub grub, get the steel steak sandwich. It's excellent.

    Restaurant Name
    Damascus Restaurant
    Description
Quite tasty middle eastern place in the middle of Allentown. I got the lamb kabobs which were excellent, as was the baba ganoush and the humus. It's a bunch of small tables in a small restaurant which gets busy at lunch, so get there early.

    Restaurant Name
    Dancing Fish Company
    Description
One of the best--and most expensive--sushi restaurants in the area. For two people, expect to spend 80-100 bucks.

Sushi is excellent, though the spicy items were a little heavy on the spicy mayo the last time I was there.

They have sake (get the hot sake) and a huge menu.

    Restaurant Name
    Grumpys Bar B Que Roadhouse
    Description
The best (and well, only) BBQ restaurant in Allentown. It's actually quite good. I recommend the full sampler, which an unbelievably large amount of food. Good pulled pork and brisket.

I recommend going after 6pm. The meat needs the extra time.

My favorite sushi place in Allentown, though due mostly to the proximity to my house.

    Good selection, reasonable prices.

    Restaurant Name
    Marios Pizza Shops
    Description
While Sals may have the best sicilian pizza in the area, I think Mario's has the best pizza overall. They have a very unique and incredibly tasty sauce that makes the pizza.

Also, try the sandwiches, as they have excellent bread. The small is probably large enough.

    Restaurant Name
    Metro's and John's
    Description
The best little hole in the wall bar/restaurant in Allentown. I almost don't want to mention it because I don't want it to get too popular.

You have to go into the kitchen to order with Anna, the 80-year old Ukranian woman that makes the best pierogies and holupki.

Lunch specials are around $2, cheese steaks are $1.80 and pitchers of Yuengling are $3.

    Restaurant Name
    Paolo's Italian Restaurant  (http://www.myauntedna.com)
    Description
Excellent Italian food with gigantic portions. The inside is more than a little ugly, but the food definitely makes up for it.

While the grilled chicken soup is excellent, you probably don't want to have it, if you want to get anywhere close to finishing your entree.

With the chicken parmesian, it's actually two huge chicken breasts, which gives you an idea of how large everything is.

I'd highly recommend Sunday brunch. Fantastic frittatas.

    Restaurant Name
    Porters Pub
    Description
Excellent "local" pub in downtown Easton. By far, not the best area of the city, but the food and drinks are worth it.

I'd recommend getting the cheese board for appetizers. I had the Nancy's favorite which was excellent, and have had the turkey, brie and apple melt.

Good selection of draft beers and great selection of bottled.

    Restaurant Name
    Taste of Italy
    Description
They have the best cheesesteak in the Lehigh Valley. Very good food at reasonable prices.

If you go during the lunch time, the service will be fine. Friday/Saturday nights, you are bound to have poor service.

    Restaurant Name
    Yocco's Doggie Shop
    Description
THE local hot dog shop. Great hot dogs and chili, though it's a little different than what you're used to. The employees are very courteous and the service is fast.

To make yourself look like a local, try a chocolate milk with the dogs.
